What it is

EVERYTHING BUT THE MEAT.

Raw Base Mix is the fruit, vegetable, fiber, vitamin, mineral and amino-acid half of a raw meal, dehydrated and ready to hydrate. You bring the meat. Rolled oats, white rice, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, flaxseed, kale, blueberries, apples, beets, plus taurine and L-carnitine. Not powder, not pellets, not chalky.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. A few minutes.

1

Add meat

Measure the base mix from the feeding chart below and add your dog’s protein — raw or cooked beef, chicken, turkey, fish, lamb, whatever they already eat.

2

Add warm water

Pour in warm water (less for a dense meal, more for a softer one). Want more calories? Add a healthy fat like Bully Max Omega-3 Salmon Oil.

3

Mix & serve

Stir, let it sit a few minutes to fully hydrate, stir again and feed. Refrigerate leftovers and use within 2–3 days.

HOW STEPHANIE BUILDS HER BOWL

Stephanie helped develop the Raw Base Mix because she prefers feeding her working dogs raw over kibble. Here is the bowl she makes in the video.

  • About 2/3 cup of Raw Base Mix — the carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals half of the meal
  • At least 1 cup of water — stirred in so the mix fully hydrates
  • About 1/2 lb of raw beef with plenty of fat — she often uses hamburger; any protein your dog already eats works

HOW MUCH PER DAY

From the bag. A 50 lb dog uses 1 cup of base mix, 1–2 cups of warm water and 1 cup of protein a day, so one 5 lb bag covers about two weeks for a 50 lb dog.

RAW BASE MIX QUESTIONS

Can I use raw or cooked meat?
Either. Use the protein your dog already eats and accepts. If you feed raw, handle it like you would for yourself: keep it cold, wash hands, bowls and surfaces after prep, and refrigerate any mixed leftovers and use them within 2 to 3 days.
How much food does one bag make?
One 5 lb bag makes up to 15 lb of prepared food once the water and protein are added. For a 50 lb dog (1 cup of mix a day) that is roughly two weeks per bag.
Is it a complete meal?
Yes, when prepared as directed with your protein. The base mix is not meant to be fed on its own; the meat completes the meal.
Do I need to add oil?
Oil is optional; protein completes the meal. To push calories higher, add a healthy fat such as Bully Max Omega-3 Salmon Oil (40 calories per teaspoon) or use a higher-fat meat, the way Stephanie does. Use the serving size on the bottle for your dog’s weight.
How do I switch my dog to it?
Mix it in gradually: 25% new food on days 1–2, 50% on days 3–4, 75% on days 5–6, full meals by day 7. Start with a little more water if the texture seems dry.
Can I use it with dry food?
Yes. Use it as a full meal, a topper, or alongside Bully Max dry food to add calories and moisture.
